Merrybeans

🇨🇿 Prague, Czech Republic

Vojta's great-great-grandfather owned a coffee roastery in Budyně nad Ohří. His name was Maroušek, and he named his coffee Maruška. He used to roast coffee in the courtyard in front of the grocery shop he owned, and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee reportedly spread far and wide.

Unfortunately, his roastery was confiscated in the 1950s and was never returned to him. What was left unfinished for him back then has now fallen to Vojta to carry on.

Maruška → Mary → Merry.

And that's how Merrybeans came to be.

However, Vojta had been interested in coffee long before that, without realizing it was probably in his genes. He had always enjoyed all kinds of sensory experiences – whether from food, drinks, pipes, or essential oils. His journey gradually and steadily led him to coffee roasting.

It took him several years to find the right place. He gradually refined his ideas and plans until he eventually settled below Vyšehrad, on Neklanova Street, in a beautiful newly built house.

In August 2023, everything finally fell into place, and he was able to open.
